Medical Tourism implosion receives international certification

An international accreditation to the quality of medicine offered by the Hospital Clinic Biblical strengthen the country as a destination for the so-called medical tourism, say officials of this centre ..

This type of tourism is that the supply of private
hospitals offer here, primarily, to Americans who do not have social insurance and are unable to cope with the costs of care in their country.

Of the 15,000 hits per month which handles the Hospital Clinic Biblical, 25% were outsiders.
. In
addition, per month, 25 surgeries are performed to foreign patients. 
Certification to the Biblical Clinic issued on 14 January, the Joint
Commission International Accreditation, American non-governmental entity charged with overseeing the services of hospitals in that country.

With the paper validates the quality of services offered here with the Americans, so the Clinic Biblical expected an increase in international demand for its services.

"According to
calculations (accrediting body), after which a country gets the recognition,
there is a hike of 20% in the order of their services," said Bernal Aragon,
general manager of the Hospital.

The most frequent requests of patients are to meet foreign operations and hernia surgery of the hip and knee.   The intent of the Hospital Clinic Bible is that this certification will establish more partnerships with insurance companies throughout the United States. It currently has two agreements signed.

"These are two big companies and one of them is a contract of exclusivity.  Integrates with four hospitals in the world, "said Jorge Cortes, medical director of the Bible.  

Outside the United States, only 136 are accredited hospitals. Biblical Clinic is the first private centre in Costa Rica so.   The private centre has
allocated $ 200,000 for certified; also invested in equipment and research, she said.

Government Announces Third International Airport. Set to Open the Osa.
